"Poe was a very good writer and I think he was a good person for his time and he was definitely a gifted student, but since he didn't have proper parenting, he couldn't have a proper education because his foster parents wouldn't supply him with the proper needs."

Poe went to boarding school in England from 6 to 11 years old. He probably got more of an education than many kids get in high school today.

"I love the raven it has always been my favorite Poe poem ever since my daddy read it to me when I was little. We used to sit in the garage (when it was clean and had a couch and a heck of a lot of books) and read it together. I still read it and smile thinking about him."

"Edgar Allan Poe is definitely the author of some of my favorite short stories such as "The Cask of Amontillado" and "The Tell Tale Heart". I love creative writing and writing my own stories so Poe is a huge inspiration. I love how all of his stories are reflections of his own emotions, particularly "The Raven" and "Annabel Lee". Poe is truly one of the greatest classic American authors."

"Masque of the Red Death is a story that intrigues me, though I can't fully envision the way Poe described the 7 rooms. I love the way you can feel the tension rising as you read further into the story. Poe is a great author and, if I had to guess, a real creepy guy, too."

"By far the best site about Poe. I love how, although sometimes dark and creepy, he shows so much emotion behind his work. So far, The Masque of the Red Death, is my favorite. It's an everyday story with a whole other meaning. Great symbolism there."
