"I read the The Tell-Tale Heart when I was home alone about the age of 11 or 12 and my heart pounded. I remember thinking, Wow, I didn't know words could make my body react. "Such a divine character, this man seemed to be. Haunted by the constant sorrows of everyday life, unaccepted in a world full of such revolting order. I would've loved to be able to tell him, "Poe, someday your works will become famous!" Can you imagine? :) Of course, as is proven throughout history--you usually have to die to become famous."

"Poe's musical style of writing has always been beautiful to me, even his creepy stuff is told in such lovely language. Anyway, didn't Poe write a poem to his mother that said: "There's no other can take the place of my dear mother"? Maybe it was someone else, I dunno. But yes I do remember many of Poe's poems and stories."

"What can I say? I've always enjoyed reading his poetry and stories ever since I've first read his work back in 7th grade (it was the one about the murderer). While writers of his time tended to sugar-coat things, his emotions ring true and vary in tone. "I've started to read Edgar Allan Poe's masterpieces after I was told that Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes was influenced by Edgar A. Poe. There's none of Edgar A. Poe's masterpiece that I dislike. All of them are great. From his poetry to short stories. He's a great man himself with wonderful creativity."
