"The Crow and Raven are almost the same, both are dark and cunning, and smart and yet at the same time they time are willing to eat carrion, so I sometime question just how smart they really are. Was it that Poe's Raven was really great or was that Poe was just the first to write in a gothic manner ? The Raven is interesting since it attempts to show the despair of lost love."

"I have loved Poe prose and poetry since childhood - The Gold Bug my favorite of his prose/mystery and The Raven as my favorite poem, its sad but inviting. The Pit and the Pendulum, true suspense, and represented very well by Vincent Price, I think Poe would have liked him :) A true genius. Sad that his life was so short - thing of all that he could have written."

What he wrote showed his feelings in words that restated things like Virginia's death.
