After becoming a man he met the love of his life and they got married but after a while the doctors discovered a disease and she died. Those are the main reasons why i think his life was depressing."

"I believe that Poe was a great author and I like how even though he always had problems with money he still pursued his career. I think writing was his way out, like when he found out his fiancee was engaged to another man, he turned to writing."

REPLY from Robert Giordano:
Poe never had a fiancée who was engaged to another man. Sarah Elmira Royster Shelton was a childhood sweetheart, but lost contact with Poe when he left for college and she eventually married another man. Years later and one year before Poe's death, it was rumored that he, a widower, and Sarah, a widow, were engaged. But Poe died 10 days before they were supposed to get married.

REPLY from Robert Giordano:
H.P. Lovecraft was a huge fan of Poe. He read all of Poe's works when he was a child.

"Poe's mind was never far from terror and decay, and we see in every tale, poem, and philosophical dialogue a tense eagerness to fathom unplumbed wells of night, to pierce the veil of death, and to reign in fancy as lord of the frightful mysteries of time and space." -H.P. Lovecraft [Source]

"Hello darkness my old friend i've come to talk with you again. Because a vision softly creeping left its seed while i was sleeping. And the visions that were planted in my brain still remain in the sound of silence. In shallow streets i walked alone narrow paths of cobblestone. Neath the halo of a street lamp turned my collar to the cold and damp til my eyes were stabbed by the flash of a neon light and split the night and touched the sound of silence. And in the naked light i saw 10,000 ppl maybe more ppl talkin w/o speakin ppl hearing w/o listening ppl writing songs that voices never shared and no one dared"
