"Your labor of love must have been a high clarion call. I read the "Gold bug" in full. I was researching his cipher. Then took a stroll about your work.... This must be why a man such as that drank to death, much unloved, broken in frenzy, ragged maligned, found dead head first at a gutter (?) so that in the untold future he may be worshipped so! A true mind is the most delectable, frightful imbalance of all Universe(s). He earned his "rose" on his gravestone each year for sure! Thank you Sir."

Yes, it has evolved through the years. The original site didn't work on phones because no one was loading web sites on their phones. The comments and these guestbook entries have evolved as well.

"Thank you for this site! I love "the Black Cat." I read it when I was just 7 or so. It was so terrifying that I couldn't sleep at night. I cried and my parents told me they threw the book away. I was too young to read Poe, but I still love mysteries and thrillers. After I grew older, I enjoy many Poe stories! I'm now studying translation of literature. The next class will be translating the Oval Portrait. I wonder I can fully understand and translate this old-fashioned writing..."
