"Ive always loved Edgar Allan Poes writing. It always has a calming, Erie effect on my mood I truly wish I couldve met Edgar in his teens/ early forties, thirties. As a kid I was invested in his poem "The Raven" I felt like it connected to me and it still does. "My favorite Poem by Edger Allen Poe is "Spirits of the Dead". I like this poem because I think it has a deep meaning. I also really like the quote "I was never kinder to the old man than during the whole week before I killed him". "Thanks for creating this site. It is an awesome place to read Poe. I became interested in Poe when the Simpsons aired The Raven in a Halloween special decades ago. I have since visited sites in Philly, Richmond, and Baltimore that are associated with him. The mysterious circumstances of his death are still crazy to me. The Poe museum in Richmond had a nice exhibit with the many theories."

"When my mom had a surgery, she wasn't able to move for a while. I would come up to her room every night for a few days and we would read different short stories by Edgar Allan Poe. While this was years ago, he's still my all-time favorite writer/poet and I myself take some inspiration from his work into my own. He truly was a genius."

"For some reasons, Edgar's works have some kind of magical charm that attracted me to them. When I open and read the first page, I just can't stop! His works are astounding, beautiful and... "Poe has been a beloved author for me starting back in my early childhood. I recall being read the "Tell Tail Heart" when I was only 5. I instantly fell in love. I have personally read all of his work numerous times over and will continue to do so. Often purchasing Complete works until they fall apart from constant use. "A Dream within a Dream describes him trying to hold on to time. Still, it slips through his fingers, and how he can't even tell if life is just a dream within a dream because nothing feels real. He wants to experience life but he watches it pass him by as he just watches loss after loss while he's fading in and out of an indistinguishable reality. I'm a student and this feels relatable sometimes so it's my favorite."
