"I doubt there is and shall ever be a writer better than Edgar Allan Poe (at least in my opinion and the opinion of millions of others). My favorite story is the Tell tale Heart, because of its virtuosic irony displayed in the introduction and the way the story was written. My favorite poem is the Bells, because of its musicality and mood swing."

"I don't usually enjoy reading of any sort. Poe's stories are ones that I could really get into though. Whether it be the dark and mysterious type of writing he used, or something that I cannot figure out, there was something special about Poe's writing that just pulled me in. I hope others can find his stories as interesting as I have."

"My favorite story of his is currently the black cat. During Medieval times, black cats were associated with witchcraft. Witches that were burned at the stake had their cats tossed into the flames with them. The only exception was the white patch on some of their chests. They believed that if a black cat had a white patch of fur on its chest, it couldn't be possessed. They thought it to be a representation of holiness, calling it an angels kiss. I find it interesting that in Poe's story, the first fully black cat died, and the second cat, the one with the angel's kiss, was spared by the wife."

"Poe is a great and well known Poet for all English classes. I've read his poems and stories since 6th grade, and it has popped up in almost every English class since. Poe had a very traumatic and hard worked youth, so he should be proud of what an affect this has had on children in school."

I think you will find his writings extremely insightful and quite interesting from the biography of his life, summaries, lectures, stories, and poetry. I feel, like others that he is one of our greatest literary giants of all time and I feel I have a better understanding of his life as I have completed this more in-depth study of him."
