"All of his poems have a deeper meaning, if you take the time to read some of his best works, you see that he hits on things that we as teenagers have a hard time dealing with right now, like depression. Though some of his pieces are morbid that's what makes them more interesting and unique."

"Hi! I am studying Poe's work right now and I have to say my favorite piece is "A Dream within a Dream". I enjoyed it because it explores life and the effects of time. My favorite part of the poem is when he illustrates someone's life slipping away from them by comparing it to the trickling of sand. Just like most of his work this poem gives and explores a unique take on the world."

"What I think about as an author is that I just sometimes don't understand the poem half the time and that he was kind of a nut job but i will say that some of his poems are not that half bad to read or listen to and is somewhat in enjoyable as well. The only thing i dislike is that i don't typically like that most poems are made to make the reader think what happened during the story but for me i would prefer that the answer was hidden in the text or in plain sight thats what i would prefer anyways."

"This site was very helpful on giving out information about the author. To me, he seems very interesting and mysterious, especially due to the fact that his death remains unknown. Other than that, he had some very strange behaviors and experiences in his life. For example, his mom and wife dying at the same age, due to the same thing. That is such a coincidence and unbelievable. The fact that his love of interest was his much younger cousin is kind of creepy too. His poem the Raven, also expresses much darkness, horror; he gives me this really eerie feeling and vibe, but also makes me wonder!"

"I enjoyed learning about Poe, some of his works/poems I can relate to. A sense of longing, sadness, and loneliness. I've experienced all of those feelings in my past and have dealt with a lot of negative comments and people. Seeing that it isn't rare for people to feel this way is comforting."

"Edgar Allen Poe was a dark writer but only due to what he experienced as a child and when he got older. His writing has more meaning than just darkness. It has purpose and meaning of who he was and what he went through. Many people could relate to him and his poetry and his darkness was not just darkness, it was the feeling of being alone."
